Zizania

I’ve been meaning to post about her business for a while now, and with this recent feature on a local news broadcast, it’s as good of a time as any:

Dominique is a former co-worker of mine who was pescatarian when she worked with me and went vegan shortly after she left the company. She now owns her own business, Zizania, where she teaches people in the Northern Virginia area how to live, eat, and cook in a healthy way through veganism.

It’s so exciting to see a former co-worker go on to do such positive things. Rock on, Dominique!

There is a definite need for what Dominique offers. We need more people like her who have the knowledge and ability to teach people how to prepare great vegan food. Zizania will be a great success.

    Hi Everyone,
Sorry it took me so long to see these postings. thank you all for your support, it is much appreciate. Zizania has been really growing in the last 6 years. Just by teaching people how to eat veggies, fruit, and wholesome foods, they are seeing amazing results, specially when it comes to CAD and diabetes. One of my clients was taking 90 units of insulin a day (this is the level of insulin for a full blown diatebtic, the doctor usually starts them at 10 unites or so and it takes years for the situation to get so bad that they need 90 units). He was also taking a form of instant insulin at each meal. He was off both of these in…… care to venture a guess? 3 days. You read that right, 3 DAYS.

He has gone 100% vegan of course and still eating carbohydrates such as brown rice and potatoes but always with loads of fiber.

I have created a forum for both clients and health enthusiasts alike becasue I am trying to grow the community and raise awareness about healthy eating. I will be honored if you would sign up and join. I send weekly health tips, along with recipes, videos and other tools that are already on the forum. Just click on http://www.zizania.biz/forum and drop me a line.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone.
    With hope and gratitude.
