"Roadkill" type food has been an undeniable fact of life for some of the poorest Americans for a long time. Again, this doesn't excuse killing animals, but I don't hold squirrel hunting (possibly for subsistence) on the same level as "sport" hunting or that kind of B.S. (Of course I could be completely off the mark, and need to look into this issue more!)
