I know this is an ancient post, but I was wondering if you could tell me one thing about Ricemellow Creme - Do you have any idea if it would brown or toast if it was nuked under a broiler? My thought is it would just melt, but I've been trying to think up ways to recreate the feeling of toasted marshmellow... Thanks for your help!

Bought Vegan fish cakes once for some reason even though I hate that fish smell. Anyways one smell and I could not eat it. So I guess its not that its vegan but also if you like the taste/smell that counts as well.

We had our friendly house-painter over doing some work around lunchtime and my girlfriend offered him a "bologna sandwich". He accepted and happily ate half of it before he remembered we were vegetarian. He warily looked over at her and said "this isn't bologna is it?"

Soy cheese, fake bologna, and Nayonaise...mmmm! He ate the rest of it and says it was pretty good.

As far as meat substitutes, I find most of Yves stuff pretty good, especially the stuff like pepperoni - in fact I fed that to a staunch meat-eating friend of mine a few years back and he still doesn't know it wasn't real pepperoni!

Another excellent tasting product is Tofurky's sausages. Maybe a bit high in the fat department, but delicious. Again, you could fool any meat eater with them.

The thought of tuno makes me gag. I like to mash up chickpeas and hikiji to get a tuna-y taste, though.

Heidi -- I'm not sure. I've written to them to ask, so check back and I'll post when I get a response.

I did find out that it doesn't need to be refrigerated, even after it's opened.

Ryan,
Can you tell if the soy in the ricemallow fluff is organic?

I too would have never bought marshmallow fluff as an omni, but I recently bought a container of ricemellow. It rocks. We ate it with some strawberries the other night.

We also bought some Tofurky bratwurst (but haven't made it yet, since after buying it we realized how high in fat it was). I never bought funky sausage things as an omni either.
