Poplar Spring is a treasure. Terry and Dave are saints (though they're too modest to admit it). The animals are inspiring, and a joy to be with. Sometimes zany. And why not - their troubles are over! Isn't it wonerful that animals who have been through so much trauma can still get so much satisfaction from life? A visit to Poplar Spring restores my spirit. Thank you so much for volunteering there.

I miss being around a lot of animals. My parents had numerous 'farm animals' when my brother and I were children. I have not been to Poplar Spring yet this year. I am hoping to get there this month.

Wow wow wow. I want to go there. I love animals so much. I swear I almost had tears in my eyes when I read your post. It must be so nice to be among all those animals.

That is a wonderful post - huzzah to you and the farm.

"if we can do something to eliminate the suffering of animals, we should do it." - so very true.

Oh, you'll love it! Farm Sanctuary's great (read about our experience there). Say hi to the official Veg Blog-adopted chicken Bessie!
