Three Foods I’m Loving
There are three foods that I’ve been loving recently:
- Kashi Heart to Heart Oatmeal – Easy to find and packed with vitamins (100% B12!), this has become my favorite go-to breakfast. And I used to hate oatmeal. I’m especially digging the Golden Brown Maple… it smells amazing.
- Fantastic Foods Vegetarian Spanish Paella – A great lunch for those days when I don’t have time to make a sandwich or when I’ve run out of leftovers. How many microwaveable meals have you eaten that actually have saffron in them>
- Dark Chocolate – Viren’s gotten me on a chocolate kick. I’ve liked everything I’ve tried so far, from Dagoba’s Mint and Rosemary to Green and Black’s Maya Gold to Newman’s Organics’ Sweet Dark Orange Chocolate to Rapunzel’s Semisweet chocolate. My saturated fat intake has certainly increased over the last month or two.

Well, the amount of saturated fat in the chocolate bars varies widely. Dagoba has some relatively low fat ones. So, choose wisely :-) Also, good dark chocolate has fiber in it — so think of it as increasing your fiber intake. Forget about drinking prune juice, suck down some chocolate.
Also, I try to limit myself to 1 or 2 chocolate squares per day (depending on the size of the squares). That usually limits my fat intake. The serving size most vendors use seems to include a good 1/3 to 1/2 the chocolate bar.
The Fantastic Foods Fast Natruals saved my life! I take them to work everyday and they’re so tasty that you would never know they’re totally natural and vegetarian! Their soup cups and noodle bowls are also great although they don’t full me up, but I’m a big eater.
