Hitler: not vegetarian

Why Hitler Was Not a Vegetarian

Some information to debunk the long-standing, popular myth.

“Under the headline, ‘Don’t Put Hitler Among the Vegetarians,’ the correspondent (Richard Schwartz, author of Judaism and Vegetarianism) pointed out that Hitler would occasionally go on vegetarian binges to cure himself of excessive sweatiness and flatulence, but that his main diet was meat-centered.”

Please check your sources because there are specific referances to Hitlers doctor specifically documenting medical records stating that hitler was put on a strick vegetarian diets. The reason was to cure Hitler of fatulence and digestive problems.
When you promote evidence to support your cause make sure of the sources, if you deem credability. Always give data to support and not just vague data.

    Strick?

    Referances?

    Anyway.

The article I linked to looked plenty well researched to me, which is why I linked it up in the first place. Please feel free to link up any other sources you deem more credible, but I don’t see how your “specific referances [sic]…” are more relevant than those presented in Rynn Berry’s article.

why don’t you stop with the quibbling of him being an orthodox Vegan. The question remains, was he, or was he NOT an animal lover??? all evidence points to the fact that he WAS. the fact that he had a predominantly vegetarian diet perhaps warrants at least some speculation that perhaps it was due to his love for animals. it is true that it also had to do partly with his distaste for eating formerly living things; as has been reported, he began a strictly vegetarian diet after the suicide of his neice and lover Geli Raubal. either way, if the world behaved like Hitler, animals would be treated with great care, love and true nobility. and we would have a lot less talking-apes: humans, running amock. a better world all around in my view.

Hitler really was a vegetarian. Visit my website for an unbiased look at the subject:

It’s not like Hitler just happened to go vegetarian, or that he just happened to love art, or that he just happened to use the anceint symbol of the swastika. I’m so sick and tired of seeing people make excuses for Hitler’s behaviour and that of the nazi’s as a whole. New Agers make excuses for his use of the swastika, vegans try to excuse his vegetarianism, hippies exuse his love for art. It’s not that he just happened to use the swastika because it looked tyranical, many upper ranking nazi’s including himself were well versed on the Vedas, Himmler carried the bagavagita with him for christ’s sake! It’s not that out of all the meat-loving Germans Hitler for some reason-“probably medical” went vegetarian, many of the high ranking nazi’s were vegetarians–Himmler, Rudolf Hess, and others. It’s also said that the nazi’s persecuted vegetarian groups, but they did not persecute them because they were vegetarian but because many of them practiced the vegetarianism of Gandih and they were therfor targeted by the nazi’s as pasifist or pro-communist. Hitler said much about how pasifism was a great idea but that the only way to arive at a world which could be romanticly pasifist was if Germans conqured it first. So Hitler understood why people saw a light in pasifism he just felt they were dreamers who left reality behind as they pondered thoughts of a “better future”. Hitler said “If war consumed the earth the last pasifist would die out with the last German”–aserting that Germans are often impressed by romantic ides and that the world would use that to their destructive intrest. When Hitler said “the world of the future will be vegetarian” he probably also thought that the ideal compassionate vegetarian world of the future would be pasifist. What about Savitri Devi? No one ever talks about her and I doubt that Ryan Berry would ever takle her situation. She was a European gone Hindu, she worshiped Adolf Hitler as a God–preferably Lord Vishnu, she went vegetarian by chioce at age 7 and all through her life she campaigned for animal rights, she promoted militant vegetarianism, and she was extremly environmentalist. To her the beauties of nature and the divinity of animals were worth preserving more than humanity if it did not wish to respect nature and all it’s beautifull creations. If you take away her racist veiws she would have gotten along terribly well in a hippy commune! Even a New age circle! If it was just one or two anomolies in the right wing nazi movement to exuse everyone would understand. But these supposedly “left-wing” anomolies seem to be everywere you look when researching the nazi’s and it only leaves us with the conclution that Hitler, the founder of the movement had many views that today would be seen as “left wing”, even “Libertarian” and progressisve and this forces us to question the nature of ideas that people claim can cure the world of it’s ills, be it vegetarianism, animal rights, eco-awareness ect. We also must realize that most of us have rightwing tendencies as well as leftwing ones. But I think the most important lesson is not to be an extemist, no matter who you are even if you happen to right. Right now we face an environmental crisis and we must wisen up, become undependent on foriegn oil
and use smarter alternatives. If we wish to be treated like human beings “when” and or “if” the superior aliens arive we should treat animals with the same respect that any evolving being with feelings deserves. For one thing is certain, if the extraterrestrials treated us the way we treat animals we we would not be too happy about it. But we must also understand that some people choose to “live in accordance with the nature of this {crule} world”. And in this world of opprotunity the smarter and stronger animals usually kill and eat those less developed instead of cherishing and helping them. Evolution isn’t equal for everyone. People must come to things on their own. Revolutions are organic, when they take place no one can stop them, but it’s impossible to start a revolution without being some kind of mind-manipulating dictator. Vegetarianism seems like it will take awhile to catch on. Most people are still mentaly in that concrete jungle of “eat or get eaten” and they won’t change as quik as some of us might like. When I eat among meat eaters, I don’t say–how you enjoyin that pigs ass? If they don’t ask me most of the time I won’t even mention my vegetarianism. Most of my freinds and family know my veiws and they respect them at a distance. For one thing when vegans or vegetarians bring up their philosophy in front of meat eaters they should remember that their freinds deep down in their heart know that we’re right and it hurts them to know what they are doing and we are seen as the “bearers of bad news” and “bearers of bad news” are always regreted. Many meateaters are loving, careing, moral people and it hurts them to know that they’ve been enjoying something that requirs evil every day of their life. Everything comes of age, and eventually everyone must eat from that horrible tree of knowlege that ruins everybodies “innocence” no matter how much they might rebel against the knowlege of the truth. As vegetarians we must enlighten people on the dark side of their lifestyle but we should never preach. “Young vegetarians” like young Christians and young hippies feel a need to preach the good news on a loud speaker. With age comes wisdom and loss of imaturity. I think the lesson of the twentieth century is that you can’t wipe others out. The communists can’t wipe out the “middle class”, hippies can’t wipe out the “human piggies”, and the Nazi’s couldn’t get rid of the Jews. Since no one is gonna win I think the best thing to do is aquier tolerance. The different tribes must lern to live–side by side if need be–in tolerance.Libertarian Socialism is where we are headed if my calulations are right. It dosen’t mean we have agree on everything and it dosen’t mean we intergrate, but if we don’t aknowlege each others right to exist we will die fighting wars of ideals and everyone could end up losing. Southerners won’t change the north any quicker than the liberal north will change the south so we must stop attacking each other, but if your a southerner and your idea of a good time is hanging black people from trees that is not an expression of the enlightened idea of “states rights” and Socialist federalism should intervene and you will lose your right. We all must remember that the south has just gotten over their overt racism and their not givin up their fags! We’re takin away evrathing they held dear! Everything in due time. The north has no right take away the south’s Christianity “which it clings to” but the south has no right to infiltrate our schools with the Christian Bible. If they are tolerant we should too. The problem is that each side want to “change” the other and both the extreme left and the extreme right are gonna end up boomeranging each other for they are the same in the sense that they both want absolute power, absolute control, and “They want the world and they want it NOW!” when compared with the slogan -“Today Germany Tommorrow the world” the message is identicle–dominion. Vegetarians must be polite when spreading the message and more people might listen to us.

    Woman Against Time:

    Remembering Savitri Devi’s 100th birthday
    R.G. Fowler
Savitri Devi was a philosopher, a religious thinker, and a tireless activist on behalf of National Socialism, Indo-European paganism, vegetarianism, animal welfare, and deep ecology. She also dabbled in fiction-writing and espionage. In 1958, with the publication of her magnum opus, The Lightning and the Sun, she emerged as one of the most original and influential National Socialist thinkers of the post World War II era. [Image: Savitri Devi in the 1950s.]
Savitri Devi was born Maximine Portaz on 30 September 1905 in Lyons, France at 8:45 a.m. She died shortly after midnight on 22 October 1982 in Sible Hedingham, Essex, England. Of English, Greek, and Italian ancestry, she described her nationality as “Indo-European.”

Savitri Devi had remarkable intellectual gifts, which she manifested at an early age. As a young child she learned French and English from her parents, then taught herself Modern Greek and some Ancient Greek. In time she became fluent in seven languages (English, French, Modern Greek, German, Icelandic, Hindi, and Bengali) and had knowledge of several others (e.g., Ancient Greek, Italian, Urdu, and other Indian languages).

Savitri Devi also had a vast knowledge of religion and history, particularly ancient history, as well as an amazing memory, particularly for dates and names. She was also a brilliant and mesmerizing teacher who could lecture at length on countless topics without reference to notes.

A self-described “nationalist of every nation” and an Indo-European pagan revivalist, Savitri Devi embraced National Socialism in 1929 while in Palestine. In 1935, she traveled to India to experience in Hinduism the last living remnants of the Indo-European pagan religious tradition. Settling eventually in Calcutta, she worked for the Hindu nationalist movement, which defended Hindu tradition from all universalistic and egalitarian ideologies, such as Christianity, Islam, Communism, and liberal democracy. In 1939, Savitri Devi married a Bengali Brahmin, the pro-Axis publisher Asit Krishna Mukherji (1904-1977). During World War II, she and her husband spied for the Japanese.

While in India, Savitri authored several books: In 1937 she completed L’Etang aux lotus (The Lotus Pond) (Calcutta: Savitri Devi Mukherji, 1940), recording her first impressions of India. The Lotus Pond combines vivid travelogues with philosophical reflections on Indian culture and tradition. Her next book, A Warning to the Hindus (Calcutta: Hindu Mission, 1939), is her manifesto of Hindu Nationalism. Hinduism is a radically pluralistic and tolerant religion, and this often blinds Hindus to the dangers posed by the intolerant Biblical religions and their secular offshoots: liberal democracy and communism. Savitri seeks to awaken Hindus to this danger and demonstrate the necessity of cultivating a unified Hindu national consciousness that cuts across yet respects and preserves India’s myriad communal and caste distinctions.

Savitri Devi was also a passionate crusader for vegetarianism, animal welfare, and deep ecology. She summarized her views on these matters in Impeachment of Man (Calcutta: Savitri Devi Mukherji: 1959). In the 1970s, long before PETA and the Animal Liberation Front, an elderly and crotchety Savitri Devi and her Indian servant broke the law to liberate cats and dogs destined for medical experiments at the All India Institute for Medical Sciences in New Delhi. Savitri’s other book on animals is Long-Whiskers and the Two-Legged Goddess, or the true story of a “most objectionable Nazi” and … half-a-dozen cats (Calcutta: Savitri Devi Mukherji, 1965). A fictionalized autobiography focusing on her relationships with her favorite cats, this is Savitri’s best written and most eccentric book.

  7. R. G. Fowler

Savitri clearly thought that such a Hindu national consciousness was a necessary condition for Indian independence. A Warning to the Hindus was translated into six Indian languages and remains in print today. A third book, The Non-Hindu Indians and Indian Unity (Calcutta: Hindu Mission, 1940), deals with the question of the integration of non-Hindu minorities into a Hindu nation, both in the struggle for Indian independence and in an independent India. Savitri’s plea is for Indian Muslims, Christians, and other non-Hindus to recognize that they are Indians first, i.e., products of a Hindu culture, even though they do not profess the Hindu religion.

Savitri Devi was also a passionate crusader for vegetarianism, animal welfare, and deep ecology. She summarized her views on these matters in Impeachment of Man (Calcutta: Savitri Devi Mukherji: 1959).
Savitri embarked upon an itinerant, ascetic life. Her two chief activities were tireless witness on behalf of National Socialism and caring for homeless and abused animals, primarily cats.

Adolf Hitler was, in course of life, to become a more and more convinced vegetarian; and though disaster robbed him of the opportunity of attempting “after the war,” to give his views, gradually, the force of law, he remains, to my knowledge, the only ruler in the West who, both on hygienic and moral (and aesthetic) grounds, ever earnestly considered the possibility of suppressing meat-eating, and of abolishing thereby the standing horror of the slaughterhouses. This is reported by Dr. Goebbels in his “Diaries,”2 and brilliantly confirmed by numerous statements ascribed to the Führer himself in the “Dinner-time talks,” also printed after 1945 by the bitterest enemies of National Socialism, certainly not with the intention of exalting him.Savitri Devi–National socialist and life long vegetarian—-text—“Lightnig and the Sun”

Hitler was not a vegetarian despite being put on a strict vegetarian diet for health reasons. His favorite foods were sausages and other cured meats. He also was not an animal lover in the true sense, he did have pet dogs which he did claim to love more than anything in the world. He also beat his pet dogs viciously, all of this is documented in his own and journals of others close to him.

  10. Longhairedking

There is no falid documentation of Hitler being cruel to animals ever!

In his daily life he gave animals more rights than any politician in history, that is the historical fact, and Steven has been misinformed.

Hitler was also the first Western Politian to support vegetarianism despite the political and nationalist consequenses of going against the the majority.

Most German Nationalists were not vegetarinas and hitler risked bieng called a coward, he risked the same abuse when he came out agianst smoking and alcohol.

One German nationalist told his son that “I do not trust a man who does not smoke or drink”.

Many of Hitler’s freinds were not vegetarians and this is why his cook prepared meat because most of his women geusts were meat eaters.

Hitler ALSO ATTEMPTED TO MAKE HIS DOG VEGETARIAN, feeding him plants and herbs!

Hitler cliamed that his dog devoured herbs and plants when his stomach was “out of order”.

It may come as a suprize to some that Hitler infact was more like Gandih in his private life but that was his secret, that was what made him so powerfull, because the truth is that Hitler belived he had to conqure a world runned by crooks in order to bring the world of Peace that Gandih tryed to convert he world to.

Gandih was the only person in the world who was not a nazi who knew that Hitler could be changed becuase he understood that the world created Hitler and that Hitler was simply having a “natrual reaction” to a world gone mad.

Gandih also remembered how violent he was before he got converted to “non-violence” and knew how hard it is to convert someone who beleives they are engaging in righteous violence.

I still think Gandih is the model vegetarian, but that was he decided to like jesus “forgive the world” while Hitler looked to “punish the world”.

Truth is that Hitler admired Gandih as a great soul even if he disagreed with his non-violent philosophy, for Hitler knew that Gandih represented the “perfect world which is to come”, a world that Hitler believed he had to wage war to arrive at.

For Hitler knew that if the world were full of Gandih’s he never wold have gone into politics, instead he wold have been a trubador, a artistic visionary.

    Gandih also knew this.

Gandih and Hitler were both old Atlantian souls, and Atlantians always recognize each other even if they end up on the opposite side feild.

In Mien Kampf Hitler said that Pacifism was a great idea, only that the only way he beleived the world of Gandih’s and Schopenhaur’s could arrive was if the nobel nature honering Germans conqured it first.

Basicaly he was saying that in a world of “Churchill’s and “Stalins” pacifist dreamers
would “die out with the last German”.

In the words of Gandih: “We do not beleive that you Hitler are as bad as the Allies depict you”

Hitler was misguided, mislead, and misused, not evil.

It was the evil streik in his phylosophy that brought his movement down.

You can have thousands of revolutionary genius ideas, but if you adopt even one bad one, it can lead to evil, the evil war and concentration camps.

The Nazi’s did have many genius’s in their scientific, health, environmental community, and under Hitler they did flourish in way that the Allies were way behind, it was the few bad seeds in their philosophy that brought the great movement o an end justly.

There is no exusing what happened in the concentration camps and nothing ever can, it is as evil as the slaughterhouses, that is why ignorance will always kill you, because it is evil, just becuase evil things happened under Hitler’s Empire dosen’t mean Hitler was evil, and if you ask me he is misuderstood from both his worshipers and his critics, they did’t understand him then, and they still don’t and perhaps never will, but films, recordings, and writings testify to the fact that Hitler hated the world that Gandih was trying to “convert”, Hitler knew that converting the world of Churchill’s and Dick Cheny’s is impossible, it’s the same world that Schopenhaur wrote against, it’s the same world that is bringing us global warming, terroism, nuclear war, and Corprate world Facism.

So Hitler STILL the enemy–save “the jews”–

Hitler was a vegetarian of violence, he beleived that violence was the only way to rid the world of greedy coprate crooks and their nature oppressing Puritn slaves.

Gandih also wanted them gone, only he loved them as animals, beasts that he wished to silence through peacefull coversion of the masess.

For Gandih was in no way a pacifist, he was a warrior, he just fought war on a “higher level”, he was a tireless fighter, he fought on the level that the powers that be hate, the level they COULD NOT demonize!

Gandih remains my highest hero, and Hitler will come around, you wait and see.

Hitler is the Atlantian everyone hates, he’s the one that recognizes the world for what it is and looks to transform it through violent justice in a world where force is the law.

Gandih was the Atlanitian that everyone loves, the one that “forgives them”, the one who is not a threat because he refuses to do business with the laws of the material world which is a world where physical force rules, unforchunatly.

Gandih was smarter than Hitler, as much as Britian tryed to make a terrorist out of him then, they can’t demonize him, but when your stupid like Hitler was and you let–especially genocide take place under your power–then the world can make up all kinds of human mythical fantasies about you.

Gandih did not hate Hitler, he was just disapointed in him, for he knew he was a soul of power, a man who posessed the power to end the dark age that we are living in now, in Hinduism it’s called the “Kali Yuga”, because Hitler failed we all have to suffer, and that is why Gandih was so disapointed in Hitler, but he did not hate Hitler, he could not.

Gandih lived in a dream world, while Hitler believed he was acting in accordace with practicality he wanted to arive in Gandih’s dream world by destroying the existing world that oppressed his kind.

He became a bigger monster than the forces he claimed to fight, and that was his own fault, we are all suffering the consequenses of his faliure, the fact that we have not succeeded in taking on where Gandih and Hitler left off, that is our fault.
