I tried my damndest to get a Tofurky or an Unturkey, but surprisingly Fresh Fields had none, despite telling me they did a day earlier. So, my cousin and I settled for faux chicken and vegan gravy (which was extremely good). Thanksgiving was always my favorite meal of the year, so I was worried how I’d do this year—but it was no sweat.

Interesting article about kids making the choice to become vegan or vegetarian. My cousin, who is now 16, has been vegetarian since she was 7 1/2 by her own choice. That’s just incredible to me—I tried a few times when I was a teenager with absolutely no success. My sister was a vegetarian for a while as well—about five years, I believe, and she started when she was about 12.
To start off this blog focused on being a vegetarian, I will link off to an entry in my other blog about my decision to become a full-blown vegetarian. My “official” start was September 7th, 2000, however for about two months before that I ate meat only a few times.
My goal of this blog is to give a perspective on vegetarianism from someone who “just turned”—I’m still learning a lot, and I hope to share what I pick up along the way with others in a similar boat.
